Level Scope › Volume and spread
Climax
A wide-spread bar on ultra-high volume that closes away from its own extreme. Tom Williams' buying and selling climax.
What it looks like on a chart
A mark under the bar. No level.
| Timeframe | Bars of history it reads | Settings | Events, last 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| M15 | 120 | — | 239 |
| M30 | 120 | — | 135 |
| H1 | 120 | — | 73 |
| H4 | 120 | — | 7 |
| D1 | 120 | — | 1 |
What we measured
Nothing of our own attached.
What it does not claim
The close position is the trap. MQL5's VSA script and AGPro's detector both define a buying climax as closing at the high — the exact inverse of Williams, who requires it to close off the high because that is where supply entered. We follow Williams. Anyone comparing against those two will see a different bar set, and that is the definitions differing, not a bug.
