Naked point of control
The point of control is the price a session spent most of its time at. It is “naked” while price has not traded back through it since that session closed. This fires on the first touch — low at or below the POC and high at or above it — and draws the level forward from the bar that named it.
What it looks like on a chart
A single horizontal line at the POC price, drawn forward from the touch bar. It needs no volume data, which is why it is the cleanest object in the whole profile literature to compute on spot FX.
| Timeframe | Bars of history it reads | Settings | Events, last 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| M15 | 400 | 50 rows, session-low origin, one count per touching bar | 248 |
| M30 | 400 | 50 rows, session-low origin, one count per touching bar | 243 |
| H1 | 400 | 50 rows, session-low origin, one count per touching bar | 239 |
| H4 | 400 | — | 0 |
Not on D1. It built on a SESSION — the profile, the first hour, the prior day's extremes. On D1 a session is one bar and the question is empty.
