Effort without result
High volume with little movement to show for it. Volume is the effort, range is the result, and the signal is a lot of the first with little of the second.

Where the definitions disagree
Four incompatible quantifications exist, and one of them — AGPro's — folds spread into effort while the other three treat spread as the result. That is a definitional inversion, not a parameter setting. We use the majority reading.
